Optimism (An Original Watercolour Painting)

£75.00

This painting, I have called ‘Optimism’ because it’s about finding a sense of hope as we emerge from the pandemic. I think this has a retro-futuristic feel and in it, I wanted to remember the past year but begin to turn to thoughts about the future.

Painted on cold pressed 9×12 inch (310 x 2230mm) 300gsm watercolour paper with Ivory black watercolour from Winsor and Newton. Details with a 0.1 Uni-pin fineliner pen and embellished with 23 carat gold leaf.

Description

This is an original painting in watercolour, fineliner pen and gold leaf. Recently, I have been experimenting with different methods of applying watercolour, deliberately developing bleeds, runs, granulation and feathering. I overlay the paintings with linework in pen and embellished some with gold.
