Ribbon Watercolour Paintings in Blue

I’ve been looking for a way to combine the watercolour paintings I’ve been making with my abstract style, and I’m really pleased with the direction these are taking. They’re all different, but built on a standard geometric base, and I design an under, over, rotationally symmetrical pattern for each painting. They have a lot in common with celtic knotwork, which I’ve been exploring in a few recent works. Each painting is finished with 23ct gold leaf.
