I’ve played with these networked layers in other prints and for me they’re about the different layers of connection, the complexity that marks any global human endeavour. On this occasion I wanted to show that our search for connection, meaning and life doesn’t end with the edges of our known universe, we’re always pushing at the boundaries of understanding and looking for ways to explore new worlds. Whether it’s sending space probes off to photograph and survey planets in our solar system or learning more about life at the nano level or searching spiritual and fantasy realms for clues to our humanity, we are always searching beyond ourselves, at best so we can better understand ourselves and at worst to dominate and control.
