Easter Wreath

I wanted to do something to mark Easter this year so I decided to make a spring wreath for our flat door. This Christmas I got a lovely book, Paper to Petal by Rebecca Thuss and Patrick Farrell. This is based on one of the projects in the book (except in the book they make 60 flowers in shades of purple – I made 11 and that was quite enough!) I wanted mine to look like cherry blossom so I used this lovely deep pink shade of double sided crepe paper (it’s darker on one side than the other). I scavenged branches from the garden and glued the flowers on with a hot glue gun. You really need fairly green branches in order to shape them, then they’re held together with florist’s wire and more hot glue. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
